In other news, I changed my hair color a little - went a bit darker and am loving it! I look rather like a ghost in this picture, but it couldn't be helped. All those chemicals in fake tanners scare me.
Weeks cooking: 17
Weeks remaining: 23
Size of Baby: According to the bump, he's about the size of an onion. Which means nothing to me, since onions vary in size. How's this for a better measurement: he's about 5 inches long. Holy cow!
Weight Gain: About 5lbs. I thought I'd be gaining more by now, given that this little guy is only 3 weeks shy of half-way done, but I'm sure that will be happening soon enough! I'm not noticing much difference between this week and the last, certainly nothing like the difference between weeks 15 and 16!
Maternity Clothes: None yet. I did order some maternity dresses just to be prepared, but right now everything still fits {aside from pants and skirts, which are getting a little tighter}.
Symptoms: About the same as last week - still slightly congested, but it's getting better. Also, I am now pretty ravenous so I bet the little guy is getting ready for a growth spurt!
Food Cravings: So... the junk food cravings have begun. I'm craving baked Cheetos and cake like crazy. Trying not to go overboard! Thankfully, I'm also still craving fruit {grapefruit and berries - especially blackberries} and avocado. I could eat guacamole at every meal.
Food Aversions: Nothing too crazy, but I'm still not loving chicken.
Sleep: Still trying to break my habit of sleeping on my back - it's so hard! I have king-sized pillows, but maybe it's time for a body pillow? Or a straight jacket.
Sex: BOY!!! I knew it!
What I Miss: Sleeping on my back. Coffee. Margaritas! Finally starting to miss adult beverages, but I can live without those much more than I can live without my coffee.
Looking Forward to: Getting the final part of our integrated screening results back. Those should come in on January 14 or so. If the results are good, we'll FINALLY be able to make a public announcement! I know plenty of people do so earlier, but I'm very much a "if there's a test, I want to take it" girl {see above}, and telling everyone before we get the results makes me too nervous.

Hooray! Baby boys are the very, very best.
I totally knew it was a boy from your 16 week pic - and I too LOVE being right. :)
Congratulations! I am so, so happy for you both!
