Do you watch Parks & Recreation? You should. I don't watch a lot of shows {ok, I hardly watch any}, but my DVR is always set to record this one. If you watch, you'll understand this reference: Mr. Curieuse flew off to Montana for the weekend to ride a horse around Little Big Horn with the Boys {don't ask}, so my dear and hip friend AMA and I had a "Treat Yo Self" Weekend. It was amazing.

We lunched, went to a salon to pamper our phalanges, got massages, and did a spot of shopping. All in one afternoon. That evening, we drove back along the coast and were treated to this amazing sunset:
And went home to further treat ourselves to some superior snacks, wine, and Benedict Cumberbatch:
Friends, if you haven't seen the BBC show "Sherlock," your life is slightly incomplete. I think the first season is on Netflix streaming, so now you have no excuse.
The morning after "Treat Yo Self 2012," we meandered down to the Brentwood Farmer's Market. It was about 85 degrees - not exactly fall weather, but lovely nonetheless. We were hoping to see some celebs, but I think they hit up the market earlier than we did.
I'd never tried a young coconut, even while on vacation in exotic places, so when I saw a tub-full at one of the stalls, I convinced AMA to have one with me. She, of course, being much hipper than I, had tried them before on several occasions, including while on a trip to Tahiti.
Well. Brentwood is not Tahiti, but it does have coconuts. And what do you know, the water inside these young coconuts tastes exactly like the bottle coconut water that's so popular with Madge. There's only a thin layer of the coconut "meat," and it's quite squishy.
So there you have it: two television recommendations from the girl who watches about 2 hours of television a week. Quality over quantity, I say. And do try young coconut if you have the chance!

I love that you have a Treat Yo Self weekend! I want a day - just one - where I take off work and eat at my favorite restaurants, go to the beach and get a massage. Sounds blissful!
That is one of my all time favorite episodes of Parks and Rec. Last December my husband and I both took a day of work for "Treat Yo Self Day," and it was awesome. I think it's going to be a yearly tradition for us. Good for you for making it Treat Yo Self weekend! Sounds like it was fabulous.
