This weekend started out the way every proper weekend should: with Brunch.
Mr. Curieuse and I tried out M Street Kitchen on Main Street in Santa Monica. It wasn't particularly spectacular, but the food was solid, the coffee was Intelligensia, and the sun was shining. Requesting much more would just be greedy.
Mr. C went off to a massage, and I got a manicure. I tried a China Glaze color, and it hasn't held up well at all - that's what I get for deviating from Essie and OPI. Don't make the same mistake as I did.
Next stop: BevMo, for re-stocking:
Mr. C is all into beer these days, thanks to a recent visit from a friend who home brews and wins awards for his concoctions {it's safe to say he knows his stuff}.
On Saturday night, we went to the Magic Castle with friends - no photos allowed, so you'll have to take my word for it.

The highlight of Sunday was seeing one of my favorite NPR hosts in person - Kai Ryssdal! Mr. Curieuse and I went to a Stanford Alumni-sponsored talk about the 2012 elections and it was both informative and easy on the eyes.
Professor Brady predicts that the President will win re-election by a narrow margin. The women in the audience agreed that Kai does not have a face for radio {the NPR photo does NOT do him justice} and should be on television, instead.
And now, it's off to begin the work week.
Happy Monday...

Loved this weekend post. So many things that spoke to me...I was in Santa Monica on Tuesday and went to Cafe Cielo, I have been to the one in Palm Springs (both are great) and my friend said it was even better than inteligensia!
I too love listing to Kai, and I looked him up once to see what he looks like (weird I know)I like his voice and was surprised to see he is HOT! Love KCRW/NPR my boss is featured on Good Food with Evan Kleiman frequently.
@Deco Aurora I'll have to try Cafe Cielo. And I'll also have to tune into Good Food - thank goodness for podcasts! And, as ever, thanks for stopping by!
