Island Wedding

This is my last Island post, I promise, but I had to share the real reason we were on a tropical vaca: to attend our friends' wedding!

While the northern part of the little island is fairly "busy" {more hotels, restaurants, ferry docks}, the rest of the island is fairly quiet and some parts are downright secluded.  There are plenty of beautiful rental properties in these areas, and it can feel like you have whole stretches of beach to yourself!  It was in such a setting that our friends held their wedding and reception.

We arrived in pink {in more ways than one - remember those "miscalculations" about sunscreen re-application I mentioned? But I felt better once I saw several guests who were practically maroon}:

How beautiful and intimate is this?

We really did have the whole beach to ourselves!

Cocktail hour had a most dramatic setting and perfect view of the sunset over neighboring Cancun:

This little guy won everyone's hearts:

And dinner was perfect, with lots of funny, touching, and happy toasts!

The bride and groom's get-away vehicle, in true Isla Mujeres style:

Hubs and I had a quasi-destination wedding in that we were married in San Francisco and most of our family lives in other parts of the country, but a serious destination wedding like this - small, tropical - seems like so much fun!
Maybe one of my younger siblings will go this route? A big sis can hope!

Would the island's name be "Paradise"?
Well, it looks like what I have in mind when I think of Heaven.
Have a nice Wednesday.
