Buying Presents for Yourself

I think it's only healthy to buy presents for yourself once and a while.  Mr. Curieuse loves receiving gifts, but it's like pulling teeth to get him to buy something for himself.  I suffer from no such reservations.

Yesterday was a slow day at work {litigation is feast or famine - you're either at work until 10pm or twiddling your thumbs, watching the clock like a hawk}, so I strolled over to Bloomingdales to look at watches.  My gold Michael Kors boyfriend watch is wonderful, but is a little too big for dressy occasions and clashes with my silver jewelry.  {Obviously, I have very complicated problems.}

I was dead-set on getting a tortoise-shell watch, but for some reason watch designers have decided that tortoiseshell bands must be accompanied by a watch face full of fake diamonds. Not my thing.  Rose gold, on the other hand - which I've finally warmed up to - definitely IS.

My little Foo Dog gladly helped model my new purchase {Marc Jacob's 'Marci'  mirror dial watch}:

I couldn't quite get the light to accurately reflect how truly rosey the gold is - but take my word on it, the color is so warm and feminine! I'm in love.  It may have taken me a year to get on the rose-gold train, but I'm here to stay!
